The Genocide Education Project is excited to share its new GenEd Armenian Genocide Teaching Trunks – Free for California teachers to borrow at no cost
Each trunk contains a variety of teaching materials to support instruction on Armenian history and
culture, including lesson plans on the Armenian Genocide that are aligned with the California History-Social Science Framework and Standards. Suitable for Social Studies and English Language Arts courses, grades 6-12, the GenEd Teaching Trunks are filled with cultural items such as small carpets, kilims, khatchkars (Armenian cross-stone replicas), teaching guides, books, and class sets of the memoir, “Goodbye, Antoura,” that will help students connect to Armenian culture and identity. Thanks to a grant through the California Teachers Collaborative for Holocaust and Genocide Education.
