July 11-20, 2026
The Genocide Education Project (“GenEd”), in partnership with the Armenian Genocide Museum and Institute (AGMI) in Yerevan, Armenia, will host the GenEd Teacher Fellowship Program at AGMI’s museum and conference facilities, July 11-20, 2026. The partnership combines GenEd’s expertise in training secondary school educators with AGMI’s unique role in Armenian Genocide remembrance and research. During the first phase of the program, the GenEd Teacher Fellows spend 10 days in Armenia attending professional development workshops, academic lectures, and visiting historical and cultural sites aligned with the workshop content. During the program’s second phase, the Fellows will organize and lead professional development activities for other educators in their region under the supervision of GenEd.
Fifteen U.S. middle or high school educators with demonstrated experience in Armenian Genocide education will be selected to participate in the program at no cost. All expenses are covered through generous donor contributions. A $400 deposit by participants will be reimbursed upon successful completion of the full program.

Program Requirements:
U.S. citizen or legal resident
Current passport
Currently in a position serving middle or high school students
Expertise in social studies or English language arts
Strongly preferred experience teaching about the Armenian Genocide for at least five years, and will teach about the Armenian Genocide in the coming school year
Commitment to leading a rigorous professional development on the Armenian Genocide, training at least 20 other educators
